In the short story of " Molly Whuppie" by Joseph Jacobs puts a spin on the Hansel and Gretel I am used to reading. In this version the children's parents throws them out of the house because they did not have enough food to eat. Well in this story Jacobs uphold the expectation of woman today because she in a way is the heroine. Molly Whuppie was smart and married her sisters to rich princes ( at least she married them to rich people). She made sure that they were well off. In this version Molly is the one that thinks of everything unlike the other versions. She is the strong character and makes sure that her siblings are well off. I like this story because it doesn't come off as a manly point of view even though it was written by a man. I guess European men are more sensitive.
